Doncaster Deaf Trust is an educational setting which houses a nursery, school and a college. We work with children and young people with a wide range of physical, cognitive and communication needs including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Deafness, Down’s Syndrome and various others. Our Therapy team works across the site to support our students to engage with their learning, develop skills for life, and maintain high levels of emotional wellbeing. The team currently consists of Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Psychotherapy.

We are now looking to employ an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to take on the exciting role of setting up a new physiotherapy service to support the children and young people across the nursery, school and college. They will work closely with the onsite Occupational Therapist and will link with specialists in the NHS and other services to support the physical needs of our students in areas such as: strength and coordination, equipment, exercises, medical interventions (e.g. gastronomy feeding), among other things. The role will involve training the wider staff team to support our students with their physical needs across the day.

As part of this role there is also scope for supporting students in other local colleges in the near future.

The successful candidate will hold a UK Physiotherapy qualification and be a registered member of the Health Care Profession’s Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Experience working in an educational setting and/or with people with Learning Disabilities would be highly desirable.
