A new trustee has found a home on Doncaster Deaf Trust’s board.
Sian Webster, director of development at Yorkshire Housing, has joined the board of trustees at the Deaf Trust which oversees Little Learners Day Nursery, Doncaster School for the Deaf, Dickson House Children’s Home, Communication Specialist College Doncaster and Aspire to Be employability services.
Sian who lives in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire said: “I am thrilled to join the board of Doncaster Deaf Trust. This is a wonderful organisation with a real vision for the future.
“I’ve always worked for organisations with a social purpose and do what I do to help improve people’s lives, so Doncaster Deaf Trust is a great fit. It’s a different sector to housing but is complimentary. I could see straight away what a fantastic place it is and its potential so I’m excited to be able to be a part of it.”
With 11 years’ experience in housing development, focusing on new build housing including land acquisition, planning and construction, Sian is now responsible for new build development and sales at Yorkshire Housing, a Housing Association, building more than 500 homes per year.
Alexis Johnson, our chief executive at Doncaster Deaf Trust said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Sian to our dedicated board of trustees.
“She brings with her experience as part of a senior leadership team, particularly in areas such as contract management, sustainability, property investment, sales, risk management, strategy implementation and grant funding.
“We are very lucky to have such a range of experience on our board and are grateful for the time that people give as trustees to ensure that the governance and strategic priorities of Doncaster Deaf Trust are robust.”
