Communication Specialist College-Doncaster boasts real life working environments where students gain understanding and practical experience in a variety of trades within the construction industry. Programmes provide students with skills in plastering, bricking, carpentry, joinery, wall and floor tiling and painting and decorating, taught by a staff team with years of experience in both teaching and working within the industry.
The flexibility and knowledge of the tutors' support students to identify the areas where they have strengths, and if appropriate move onto the specialist bespoke courses to help them progress in those areas. Comprehensive health and safety training can be arranged, leading onto the CSCS card which is a legal requirement to allow access to construction sites.
Many students receive industry recognised qualifications, whilst others concentrate on learning practical, health and safety and work skills which will support them in many different areas of employment, as well as the practical skills to help them maintain their own homes.
